iAwards Finalist 2005

Arrow eAS a Finalist in the prestigious iAwards 2005.... Delivering innovation and real value to both the public and Government sectors.

Arrow eAS has been selected as a finalist in The Australian Information Industry Association's (AIIA) 2005 iAwards in the category of E-Government and Services.

The iAwards are the Australian ICT industry's premier awards program, presented by AIIA, the Australian Financial Review and the CSIRO ICT centre.

Developed by Arrow Research Corporation (ARC), the electronic activity statement application (Arrow eAS) is an Australian first. Arrow eAS provides an integrated lodgment model for activity statement submission, bypassing the need to use the ATO's Electronic Commerce Interface (ECI) or the ATO Business Portal.  Using the most innovative technology framework - Microsoft .Net - and deploying web services, businesses can electronically retrieve, validate and submit activity statements online and in real time from their Arrow Financials user interface.

"Arrow eAS demonstrates innovation in that it really dose make it easier for businesses to communicate with the ATO and submit their activity statements in just minutes, and with the highest level of security:, says Sue Sewell, Arrow Product Manager.

"Our involvement began when the ATO asked accounting software vendors to join a project team to develop new web services to make electronic lodgment of activity statements directly from commercially available accounting packages simple.  Arrow was the first and only vendor to sign up for the pilot program, and from this initative Arrow eAS was created an Australian first application of its kind."

"We are delighted to be short listed for the awards, and are looking forward to showcasing our application to the judging panel on May 5," she concludes.

The iAwards provide recognition to Australia's world class Information and Communication Technology (ICT) innovations.

The E-Government and Services Award is presented to the most innovative nomination for developing ICT solutions that support electronic government initiatives and services to the community.  There are three finalists in each category.

All iAward winners will be announced at the prestigious iAwards Gala Dinner on Wednesday 25 May, held at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre as part of CeBIT Australia,
